Series Time
Well the October classic is upon us and as an American League fan, Baltimore Orioles in fact, I have to pull for the Tigers. Justin Verlander is also a local Richmond boy so you gotta wish them luck, but man he stunk up game one, pitching to Pujols? I saw him pitch in May when I was in Seattle and they looked good then, I hope they have the juice to take down the Cards.

I'm a Mariners fan, and I usually stick with the AL in the Series too. That is, unless it would happen to be New York, Texas, or the Angels. In the AL, I root for the Mariners first, then the Twins and the Tigers. As for the NL, it's always the Cubs first, then the Cards. So, this year I have two teams I like a lot and follow regularly in the World Series! Jeremy Bonderman is from the Tri-Cities in Washington, about 115 freeway miles from here, so he's regional for me, kind of like Verlander is for you! Go Tigers!
I have to like Detroit's pitching. They have solid starters, whereas the Cards' starters are kind of iffy. As for the bullpens, the Cards are getting by with good performances from what is mostly a bunch of no-names. Detroit has Zumaya! Wow!
Tri cities, is that the area around Pasco and Walla Walla? I was out there in May with my company we were visiting some of the wineries that we represent in that area, absolutely beautiful country around the Columbia.
That's right! I live in an even nicer area, with lots of trees (pine and fir forest) and high mountains. Next time you come out this way, fly into Boise, and rent a car for a drive up I-84 to Pendleton and then over to Richland/Pasco/Kennewick or Walla Walla. La Grande is 170 miles up the road from Boise, about a two hour and 45-minute drive. From La Grande, Walla Walla is 90 minutes farther along, and Tri-Cities is about an hour and 45 minutes. Stop in La Grande, and spend a few hours looking around, I will be your tour guide!
