Greedy Pigfuckers

So NBC and The Wall Street Journal report today that the feds are conducting a criminal probe of BP for shoddy maintenance on the Alaskan pipeline that caused the huge spill last year. Apparently after years of record profits BP cannot afford to run the anti-corrosive chemicals through the pipes, in fact this basic procedure has not been done in over a decade! Inspectors reported that in spots the pipes are paper thin, now they are shutting down. Gotta love the petroleum industry. Whoever the next President is we desperately need a Marshall plan for energy in this country. We rebuilt Europe and Japan after WWII, and we landed on the moon, why the fuck can't we end our dependence on fossil fuels? Solar, wind, hydro, ethanol, biodiesel, hell, nuclear, anything other than importing oil from medieval desert kingdoms. It is a matter of national security as well as environmental urgency that we do something quick. If we took the money that Uncle Dick and W gave as tax cuts to energy companies and multi millionaires we would have a great start for the research on this new Manhatten project.
